Elegant Miyoo Flip

The design

The Miyoo Mini Flip's design is clearly inspired by the Game Boy Advance SP with its iconic vertical flip cover. The top half houses a 3.5-inch LCD screen in a 4:3 aspect ratio, ideal for retro gaming. The bottom of the handheld retro device features a function button, or potentially the power button, along with the D-pad and game buttons just below. Moving down, you'll find the two analog sticks and the SELECT and START buttons.

A powerful processor + Wi-Fi

The RK3566 Quad-Core 64-bit Cortex-A55 processor, running at up to 1.8 GHz, offers virtually equivalent levels of PS1 and Dreamcast emulation, depending, of course, on the specific performance of the emulator used. Our tests with the RG353V and RG353VS handhelds, equipped with this processor, revealed PS1 and Dreamcast emulation issues due to insufficient emulator optimization. However, using custom firmware such as JELOS showed significantly improved results compared to the stock firmware. The Miyoo Mini Flip will feature Wi-Fi connectivity, a welcome feature. However, it will not support Bluetooth.

RELEASE DATE

Rumors circulated that the Miyoo Mini Flip would be launched in December 2023, but a reliable source confirms that the release date is definitively set for January 2024.

Which emulator?

The emulators compatible with the Miyoo Mini Flip will largely depend on the operating system configuration. It's possible to stick with the basic Miyoo firmware, which, while simple, gets the job done. An alternative would be to opt for a more traditional system, such as that of an Anbernic handheld computer.
